Welcome to Our School – Success for Each…A Place for All!
Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,
It is my privilege to welcome you to St. Albert Learning Centre, a school where we truly believe in “Success for Each…A Place for All!”
St. Albert is more than a school. We are a community built on hope, belonging, second chances, and the belief that there is more than one pathway to success. Whether you are a young person looking for a different approach to learning, an adult returning to school after many years, someone working toward your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or a learner preparing for a new career, there is a place for you here.
Rooted in our Catholic faith and guided by the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every learner is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We recognize that each student comes to us with a different story, different experiences, and different goals. Our role is to meet you where you are and help you determine the pathway that will get you where you want to go.
Our flexible and individualized programs provide students with opportunities to earn credits in ways that are meaningful and relevant to their lives. Through experiential learning, co-operative education, alternative education, adult and continuing education, literacy and employment-focused programming, we help students build not only academic skills, but also confidence, independence, and a sense of purpose.
Our PEACE Pens & Beyond student-led business is a wonderful example of learning beyond the traditional classroom. Students earn credits while developing real-world skills in entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, production, and customer service. Most importantly, they experience the pride that comes from seeing what they are capable of accomplishing.
Our accredited Personal Support Worker (PSW) Program prepares students for meaningful careers in healthcare while developing the empathy, compassion, professionalism, and skills needed to care for others with dignity and respect.
For adults who may have left school before earning their diploma, graduation may be closer than you think. Through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) for Mature Students, we recognize the valuable learning that happens through work, life experience, training, and previous education. Eligible students can earn credits toward their OSSD through PLAR, significantly reducing the time required to graduate. Some of our mature students are able to complete their diploma in as little as six months.
What makes St. Albert special, however, is not simply the programs we offer, but it is the people. Our dedicated staff take the time to get to know our students, understand their goals and challenges, celebrate their successes, and help them keep moving forward.
If your educational journey has not followed a traditional path, that is okay. Your past does not determine what comes next. Sometimes success simply requires a different pathway, the right opportunity, and someone who believes you can get there.
I invite you to explore our website, learn more about our programs, and discover what St. Albert Learning Centre can offer you. If you are considering returning to school, completing your diploma, earning credits, or exploring a new career pathway, please reach out to us. It is never too late to take that next step.
We look forward to welcoming you to our St. Albert Learning community and being part of your journey.
Warmest regards,
Christina Raso
Principal
