Celebrating the Full Joy of Easter — With Deacon Rolly and the Easter Octave

In Catholic tradition, Easter is not just a day — it’s a season that unfolds over 50 days, from Easter Sunday all the way to Pentecost. And at the heart of that season is the Easter Octave — the first eight days after Easter Sunday, where each day is celebrated as a continuation of the joy of Easter morning.

This week, Deacon Rolly visited our secondary students and brought that message of joy, hope, and deep understanding to life.

With wisdom and energy, he broke down the significance of this sacred season — highlighting how the Easter Octave invites us to pause and celebrate the Resurrection with renewed faith each day, not just once. It’s a time when the Church rejoices as if every day were Easter Sunday — because the news that Jesus is risen is that powerful!

Deacon Rolly used the classroom whiteboard to guide students through:

 • The timeline of Easter Sunday → Easter Octave → 50 Days to Pentecost

 • The meaning of sin as selfishness, and how the Resurrection restores broken relationships

 • A reminder of the journey from Ash Wednesday and Lent, leading us to the light and promise of Easter

He ended with a powerful moment of community and reflection by leading our students in prayer for Pope Francis — lifting up the Holy Father and our global Church in faith.

Thank you, Deacon Rolly, for helping our students experience Easter as more than a day — as a season of transformation and joy that lives in us all.
