Take Your First Step Toward A PSW Career in 2025!

Start your career in healthcare or take the next step like Audrey did! Not only did Audrey complete her PSW program, but she also earned her OSSD in June 2024. Now, she’s continuing her journey as a paramedic student and we couldn’t be prouder!

She credits the PSW program with giving her the foundation needed to succeed in her paramedic studies. Audrey even stopped by to visit Dawn-Marie, our PSW clinical instructor, to share how well the PSW program prepared her for the next step.

Do you want to be like Audrey? Whether you’re starting a career or looking for a new direction in healthcare, now is the perfect time!

St. Albert Students work with St. David Students for The Meaning of Home Contest!

Our incredible secondary students at St. Albert Learning Centre have spent the school year committed to a powerful project focused on supporting those experiencing homelessness. Their dedication earned them the Michael Monk Award – a true honour recognizing their heart and impact.

In February, their passion turned into action through the Meaning of Home Contest! Each entry raised $10 for our local Habitat for Humanity, and our students didn’t stop at one — they taught a lesson on empathy and housing security to Grades 4–6 students at St. David School and together submitted over 40 entries – raising more than $400!

Afterward, our secondary students showed thoughtful leadership as they carefully reviewed each Meaning of Home entry, engaging in meaningful discussions before casting their votes for the top submissions.

Then, they selected their favourites.

1st Place: Jera
2nd Place: Ivory
3rd Place: Jessie & Andrew (tie!)

Here’s a glimpse into the powerful reflections:

“A home helps you feel cared for, but a house you’ll just expect to survive.” – Jera
“My home is where I feel loved. I know I am loved because at home I hear the words ‘I love you.’” – Ivory
“Home is a place to make memories and fun traditions like food and clothes… a wonderful place where you can be different.” – Jessie

These young voices remind us how home is more than four walls — it’s love, safety, belonging, and memory.

A huge congratulations to our all of our students for using their voices to make a difference!
